My TOP 6 Products (so far) in 2024

Soooo one thing to know about me is that my favorites are based on what I use either personally and/or in my MUA kit for gigs. My recommendations aren’t timed with when products role out, at least thats the case much of the time. My recommendations come after I’ve utilized the product on my combination, sensitive, acne prone, nearly 40 year old skin. I like to take my time to see how my skin reacts over time and more so through the seasons since I live somewhere that has 4 seasons. Shout out to New England <3.

Foundation: Let me tell you…as I get older, a multi-use product is always an absolute win. But only if it actually works. The Milani CONCEAL + Perfect 2-IN-1 Foundation + Concealer is that gworlllllllllllllllll! I use this every single day, have now recommended it to anyone that will listen to me, and will until the end of time. Nothing makes me happier than a drug store product that is and forever will be a holy grail in my personal makeup kit.

“Combat under eye circles, redness and imperfections…”

My favorite thing about it is it’s a medium to full coverage foundation AND concealer with a natural matte finish that doesn’t leave you looking cakey and dry (so many matte products do this to my skin). It’s long wear-ability and oil free formula makes it IDEAL for us oily/combo skinned makeup wearing humans…and is MF waterproof plus sweatproof…and comes in 45 shades?!?!?! Milani knocked it out of the park with this one. A little goes a long way. I apply it with a fluffy foundation brush and then dampen a makeup sponge with Rosewater Mist and tap my face to ensure it’s blended evenly. This is a year round product but I highly recommend it as we head into the warmer months. Coming in at only $11.99, it’s an absolute steal!

Mascara: Where are my super duper sensitive eyed people?! Yeah, not sure what happened to me in 2020 (other then the world coming to a halt etc. OY VAY), but my eyes all of a sudden during lock down (no I didn’t have Covid) became soooooooo sensitive. I had to stop wearing mascara for a while. If I had one product that I had to leave the house wearing and only that product until the end of time, it’s mascara.

In 2024 I FINALLY found a mascara that truly lasts me all day and doesn’t hurt my eyes at all. I’ve even slept in it just to fully test it out. Jones Road Beauty Mascara is for the makeup minimalists and sensitive eyed people, wahoo!

My favorite thing about this product is it’s curved applicator. I only put mascara on the middle and outside portion of my eye lashes, so this applicator allows a controlled application to ensure I target that area and only that area. Coming in at $36.30, it’s in the pricier range for mascaras, but for me it’s worth it just to protect my eye balls!

Blush: A dear friend once told me that I wear as much blush as a French Madame from olden times. D’accord LOL! As a French girl, I was flattered because I knew exactly what she meant. The pigment and placement and density of application was on fire. But my skin wasn’t loving the powder blushes anymore. As I approach turning 40, my skin simply changed…merci beaucoup hormones! After spend hours at my local Sephora, I came across Saie Dew Blush and let me tell you, it IMMEDIATELY became my go to. My favorite thing about this product is that it’s buildable, blends seamlessly, and makes this blush loving queen feel so confident. The doe foot applicator wand allows for a controlled application and ensures I don’t utilize too much product. Coming in at $25, it’s also a bit pricier then I would typically spend however its worth it in every way since I use it literally everyday. Blush baddies will rapidly make this a holy grail in their daily makeup routines!

Face Mask: The absolute first thing to freak out when the seasons change for my skin is the flakiness, dry patches, and the increased shine in my t-zone. I get the lovely pimple and then am wrought with anxiety courtesy of my skin’s ability to have hyperpigmentation scaring. Lovely (insert eye roll emoji here). However, a tried and true brand I have loved for over a decade comes through with their lush hydrating treatment mask, Heritage Store Rosewater Jelly Mask ($14.99).

It’s PACKED with gentle skin care benefits such as Rose complex and Hyaluronic Acid (the mother of all hydrating ingredients as far as I’m concerned). This mask is a must have for my dry to combination skin folks who year round need that once a week boost to support overall skin barrier health and suppleness of the skin. Just lovely! Never mind that the gentle not overly musty floral notes makes you feel like you bought your skin a dozen roses.

Face Moisturizer and Eye Cream: Last and most certainly not least, moisturizerssssssssssss. The skin care prep being effective will be reflected in how well your makeup places, sets, and lasts. It’s just facts. As a French girl, I dream day and night about French Pharmacies. Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing compares to French Pharmacies. The sheer variety is bar none THE best I’ve come across.

Embryolisse does it well 100% of the time. As you can tell by now, I’m an absolute nut for multifunctional products that support healthy skin. It’s required at this point in my skin care and makeup routine, and most of all in my MUA kit. Embryolisse products just do it right every single time.

The two products I use AM and PM are their Lait-Creme Sensitive Multi-Function Moisturizer ($17-$32) and their Smoothing Eye Contour Care ($25). The face lotion operates as an all in one moisturizing cream, makeup base, all while being hypoallergenic, perfume-free, non-comedogenic, and can be utilized as a soothing mask.

Are you kidding me?! It’s good enough for adults, children, and babies because it’s made for hyper sensitive and reactive skin types. Unreal.

Then there’s the eye cream, which tackles fine lines, dark circles, bags, all the while having that romance inducing subtle Damask rose extract.

Can you tell rose is a fav ingredient of mine?! It’s just so wonderful for anti-aging and nourishing your tired skin. If you’re wondering if I utilize all of these on a regular basis if not daily, then let me clear that up for you (again)…ABSOFUCKINLUTELY! They work so well together and independently.

These products will be in my holy grail permanent rotation for the foreseeable future. They’re simply just that fantastic. Marvelous. Superb. Magnificent. Superior. Lush. etc. etc. etc. etc.!!!!!
